WhatsApp

Updated May 14, 2026 · FinityAi

WhatsApp in FinityAi is beta: you link the phone number you use with WhatsApp, then chat with the same assistant as the web app. Linking uses a short code—FinityAi shows the code, and you send that code as your only message from WhatsApp to your organization's FinityAi WhatsApp business number.

What you need

  • WhatsApp installed on the device for the number you will link, and access to your organization's FinityAi WhatsApp business number (the line the assistant uses on WhatsApp).
  • Your mobile number in international (E.164) form, including country code (for example +1… for North America).
  • Your workspace must have inbound WhatsApp messaging configured for FinityAi—otherwise messages never reach the assistant.

Connect in FinityAi

  1. Sign in to FinityAi and open Integrations → WhatsApp.
  2. Enter the phone number you use with WhatsApp, in international format (with country code).
  3. Tap Get link code and note the 8-character code shown in FinityAi.
  4. Open WhatsApp on that phone: if the integration page shows a QR code or Open in WhatsApp, use it—the chat opens with your code filled in; tap Send. Otherwise, open your organization's FinityAi WhatsApp number manually and send only the code—see the next section.
  5. When linking succeeds, you can message the assistant from WhatsApp like other channels. Use Unlink on the integration page to remove the number.

Send one message that contains only the code—no greeting, emoji, or extra words—so linking stays reliable. A QR code on the integration page (when your workspace configures it) encodes the same rule: the message field should contain nothing but the code before you send. If you make a mistake, request a new code in FinityAi and try again.

Assistant: tools in WhatsApp

Replies use the same assistant and enabled tools as the web app for your account. Very long replies may be shortened for WhatsApp delivery. FinityAi can only read text messages in WhatsApp for now—not media attachments.

  1. Adjust models and tool access from the Assistant on the web if needed.
  2. Refresh status on Integrations → WhatsApp after linking or changing settings.

See the Assistant user guide for how chat settings work.

Sample prompts

Examples only; available actions depend on your connections and plan.

  • Summarize what I should focus on today in three bullets.
  • Draft a short reply I can send to my team about tomorrow’s meeting.
  • What tools are enabled for me in this chat?
  • Remind me how to unlink WhatsApp if I change phones.
  • Check my mail for anything urgent from today and list subject lines.

If something fails

  • Wrong or extra text in the code message — Send a new code from Integrations → WhatsApp, then try again with only the code.
  • Code expired — Request a new code in Integrations → WhatsApp; codes last about 15 minutes.
  • No reply — Confirm the assistant works in the web app. If it does, ask your workspace administrator to verify WhatsApp inbound messaging is enabled and healthy.
